Members Tour of the PWRR Museum

On Sunday, 2 August, the Friends’ latest members-only tour was held at the PWRR museum in the Keep Yard, featuring a comprehensive guided tour led by Rachael, one of the museum’s esteemed curators, who provided in-depth explanations of the collection’s notable pieces and their fascinating provenance.

During this exclusive tour, we had the privilege of accessing a curated selection of WW1 and WW2 artifacts, including medals, documents, and equipment. Our guide, Rachel, provided insightful commentary on a notable collection of medals, featuring Military Cross (MC) and Victory Cross (VC) decorations. Participants were invited to handle the exhibits while wearing protective gloves.

We extend our gratitude to Rachel for facilitating this unique behind-the-scenes experience at this exceptional museum.

Despite having 13 attendees initially booked, four individuals cancelled at short notice. We look forward to the possibility of organising another museum tour in the future.
